Llanelli RFC and the Scarlets have both made a formal citing complaint to the Welsh Rugby Union, while Gwent Police are currently investigating the incident.
"We were devastated for Gav. He had really come on since returning from Italy and was about to make the step across to regional rugby," said Davies.
"He has been so brave and dealt with the incident magnificently.
"I have spoken to him and told him there would be a number of opportunities for someone like him with the club in our coaching team. Gav is very important to us."
Quinnell is the son of Wales great Derek and brother of fellow internationals Scott and Craig.
He spoke publicly for the first time since the incident this week.
"I am really overwhelmed by all the people that are saying so many kind words to me at this time and am thanking all of you," Quinnell wrote on a social networking site.
"I really wish I could say thank you to you all in person but sorry, I can't."
