"Rida will bring a lot of experience though he's a young guy," Hugh Campbell, Glasgow's head coach, remarked in announcing the signing today. "He has played for highly rate clubs such as Bourgoin and Pau, and he's had more than 120 games in the top division of French club rugby as well as his sevens experience."
Jaouher has been with Pau for the past two seasons after sojourns with Bourgoin, Dax, and Mont-de-Marsan. He made his debut in the top division of French club rugby for Bourgoin in 1997 only a few weeks after his seventeenth birthday. He has played for France at under-18, under-19, and under-21 levels, and he has been a regular in the French seven for the past year, including the World Cup tournament in Hong Kong in March as well as, most recently, the Paris event.
Last Saturday his contribution to his country's Paris success included a try in each of the semi-final and final. In those two ties, successively, France beat New Zealand 14-12 and Fiji 28-19 in winning a World Sevens Series title for the first time.
