The SRU have withdrawn Gordon Bulloch and Chris Cusiter from Saturday's Tsunami relief game at Twickenham.
The pair were originally named alongside Chris Paterson and Simon Taylor for the fund raising game but a statement from the SRU has said that on the advice of Scotland team management and medics Clive Woodward had lost the services of the Scotland skipper and the potential Lions scrum half.
SRU Director of Rugby, Ian McGeechan, said: "We agreed with the organisers that, fitness pending, all leading players would be available for selection. While Gordon Bulloch and Chris Cusiter have had to withdraw, we are delighted to be providing two world class players in Simon Taylor and Chris Paterson, and will be happy to provide others if required."
