The 27-year-old moved into the professional ranks in the summer after impressing for Heriot's and Scotland's club international team.
But his progress during the first half of the season was wrecked after he suffered a recurring back problem.
Now though he believes he is fully fit and has sharpened up his skill-set while on the circuit with Scotland 7s and says he cannot wait to make his bow in professional rugby.
Teague said: "I'm really excited about it all. I've been away with Scotland 7s, so I've had the experience of playing in front of big crowds at international level.
"Before I went away, Andy (Robinson) told me to go and do my best and there may be the chance I'll be involved against Scarlets."
In touch with his rugby roots, Teague met up with students from his old school, George Heriot's on Wednesday and he revealed he passed on a few tips to their aspiring rugby players while showing them around Murrayfield.
He added: "I spoke to them about rugby and gave them a tour of the stadium, so they got an aspect of what life as a professional is like."
Scott MacLeod has been given the nod to make his first ever start for Edinburgh in the second row alongside Ben Gissing.
The inclusions of Simon Webster (wing) and Hugo Southwell (full-back) are the other two changes to the starting line-up that lost at Munster two weeks ago while Allister Hogg continues to captain the side.
On the injury front, Geoff Cross (knee), Gavin Kerr (back) and John Houston (fractured hand) are joined in the treatment room by long term casualties Matt Mustchin (ankle), Ross Rennie (knee), David Callam (hip), and Steven Turnbull (ankle).
