In addition to the Family Funzone, bosses at the region have teamed up with schools and rugby clubs across Ospreylia for the South Stand Special, offering them the opportunity to bring under-16's to the matches for free, with each four children accompanied by an adult paying just £5.
Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth said: "We enjoyed our all-time record Heineken Cup crowd for our last home game, against Leicester Tigers, with more than 18,000 people attending, and it was the highest crowd for any fixture in Europe that weekend. The atmosphere for the game was incredible; it really helped to make a difference, lifting the players on the pitch during what was a difficult and physical match.
"After that, we asked ourselves what could we do to encourage supporters to come back to the Liberty Stadium for our next two fixtures, both of which are taking place during the Six Nations when maybe some of our fans focus will be on international affairs. The solution we came up with was to declare the South Stand area a Family Funzone and make it the place to come for fun day out. We want the rugby match itself to be just part of a fantastic occasion, and I'm sure that with the inflatables in place, everyone who comes along will thoroughly enjoy themselves."
Weather permitting, the Family Funzone will be located in the South Car Park, opposite the South Stand adjacent to the Ticket Office, and will be open to all supporters and their families, not just those taking advantage of the clubs and schools offer. In the case of adverse weather conditions, it will move inside to the South Stand concourse area, with supporters able to access from all areas of the ground. The activities will be free to all ticketholders.
Roger Blyth added: "I'm sure that the families who come along to the game will have a wonderful time. The Connacht match in particular, taking place at 2.15pm on a Sunday afternoon, will allow families to come along and really make a day of it. We are always looking at ways that we can make a trip to the Liberty Stadium more enjoyable, and I think that these two new initiatives will go down well with our fans, particularly during these difficult financial times.
"Some of the Ospreys players will be on hand to try out the equipment for themselves, so why not come along and see if you can beat their scores?"
Anyone from a school or rugby club in Ospreylia who is interested in taking advantage of the South Stand Special should contact Barny Harper at the Ospreys on 01792 616 500. The standard group booking offers for any party of 20 or more, for all areas of the stadium will also be operating for these two games.
