Skipper Ally Kellock will feature in the European clash with Gloucester at Kingsholm on Sunday after recovering from a chest infection that has seen him miss Glasgow's last two fixtures.
Kellock, who impressed for Scotland in their recent autumn series, hasn't appeared for Glasgow since returning from international duty.
The 28-year-old second row was unavailable for the memorable Magners League win at Ulster on December 4 before also sitting out the Heineken Cup victory over Gloucester at Firhill last time out.
But while Kellock's return will be a big boost for Glasgow, the news that highly-rated wing Thom Evans faces time out will not have gone down well with head coach Sean Lineen ahead of a busy festive period.
The Scotland international picked up a knee injury in the 33-11 win over Gloucester last weekend and will not feature in the return match in England.
The extent of the damage is not yet known and no date has been set for Evans' return.
However, his absence this Sunday appears to be precautionary, with the injury not deemed to be too serious.
Lineen will await further tests on the 24-year-old but will be hopeful that he will be available for selection for the Magners League 1872 Cup double header with Edinburgh on December 27 and January 2.
