The entire Glasgow eight were in dominant form as Lineen's men secured an impressive 33-11 victory over Gloucester at Firhill to bounce back from two defeats in their previous two European games.
Having moved to the top of the Magners League standings with a win at Ulster the previous week, Glasgow showed just how dangerous they can be against opposition from other domestic competitions.
And with five of the pack aged between 20 and 25, there could well be plenty of good times ahead for Glasgow.
"Some of these youngsters are getting old for their age now," said Lineen, after tries from Max Evans and Bernard Stortoni and 20 points from the boot of Dan Parks saw off their English opponents.
"They're more mature and they're a little bit more experienced now. The likes of Moray Low, Richie Vernon, Richie Gray, John Welsh - you look at how young these guys in the forward pack are.
"The belief's coming as well. There's familiarity with each other; they're buying into it; they know what they're doing; and they're enjoying it. There's real competition for places.
"The front five was where it really started from - they way they scrummed and the way they defended. That allowed the back row to play, and for the second week in a row I thought they were outstanding. John Barclay led the team well and Kelly Brown was pretty close to man-of-the-match."
The majority of Glasgow's points came in the opening 40 minutes as they opened up a 27-11 lead at the break.
But while the scoreboard may not have flowed as freely in the second period, Lineen was equally positive about the performance in each half, for different reasons.
"We've been working hard on tempo," added Lineen.
"We scored two cracking tries and we could maybe have scored a couple more. We controlled the game when we needed to and set that tempo.
"I also thought our defence was in good order. There was a really good structure to our defence.
"Patience was a word we used a lot during the week. And patience was also a word we used at half time. We knew Gloucester would throw everything at us and try and play.
"What we needed to do was live off their mistakes, which we did for a period.
"We're really happy. Winning is great for momentum and winning is great for confidence.
"Obviously there's a lot to work on but it's a great result. We'll enjoy it and then it'll be another hard week's training."
